Howard Gordon did an interview with Sky UK and revealed that at one point early on, network executives were considering Jeff Goldblum for the role of Jack Bauer. “But once Kiefer [Sutherland] came up that was pretty much done”, he says.
He also speaks of the final scene in the series finale and briefly about the upcoming 24 movie.
Howard Gordon talks about the end of 24 and says that he knew from the start it’d likely be the final year. He also gives a very nice tidbit at the end saying that “There will be some old cast members making an appearance in the movie”.
With the press having just watched the 24 Season 7 finale, show-runner Howard Gordon is already letting people know what’s in store for the upcoming Season 8 (which begins filming in just over a week).
Here’s an interview I recorded this morning on FOX 5’s Good Day New York. It’s almost entirely about his novel Gideon’s War, but he gets asked about the 24 movie at the very end (final 20 seconds) to which he replies it’s not happening right away but is still happening.
