When Elisha Cuthbert landed the role of Kim Bauer in Fox’s hit series “24,” she soon found herself with a bit of a problem. The 21-year-old was beset with calls from friends and loved ones who wanted to meet the show’s star, Kiefer Sutherland, reports Hello! magazine. Of course, like his character in the thrill-a-minute hit show, Sutherland found a solution — to record a voice message on Cuthbert’s answering machine. Now the actress’ friends can hear their hero, who plays secret agent Jack Bauer in the program, taking their calls. Now all of Sutherland’s co-workers want him to say a few words on their machines, too, says Cuthbert. “Everyone wants Kiefer to be the voice on their machine, saying: ‘Hello, this is Jack Bauer.’ It’s really cool, him saying: ‘We’re dealing with a virus here now, so if it’s that important I dare you to leave a message.’ “
