Kiefer Sutherland Touch Season 2 promotional photo

Bad news for Touch fans – FOX has decided to push the season 2 premiere back from its original October 26th premiere to sometime in January. Kitchen Nightmares will take its spot.

The release date for Touch Season 1 on DVD appears to be unchanged.

Whaaaa? Anyone know why? That’s horrible!

I wonder how Kiefer Sutherland feels about this delay; considering how FOX have jerked him (and Imagine) around regarding the ’24’ movie, moved ‘Touch’ to the Friday night graveyard slot, and THEN delayed it until January next year… what would YOU think if you were he!?

That being said, ‘Touch’ being delayed doesn’t change anything, they’ll still wrap filming on the second season sometime in April – regardless of actually when it’s broadcast – by which time, I would sincerely hope that the ’24’ movie is prepped and ready to start production as soon as Kiefer Sutherland is available… but the clock is now ticking and they need to get with it pretty pronto…

I’m not very upset by that, since I don’t like at all this cheesy show :)

And of course I hope Kiefer would be available after wrapping Touch, for THE movie !

I wonder what kind of excuse Kiefer is gonna come up with after Touch is eventually yanked. They were talking about how Touch was getting in the way of the movie schedule yet I haven’t seen any progress been made all these months.

Ozgur dude, are you privy to the internal memos and meetings of both Imagine Entertainment and 20th Century Fox, if not, I’m not sure you can say with any authority that no progress is being made on the ’24’ movie!? The script is finished as of spring this year, Howard Gordon recently said progress was being made, and Kiefer Sutherland (Le Kief!) has stated that filming will start next spring/summer when he finishes ‘Touch’, but if you have any information that contradicts these statements, I’m all ears…

I’m not saying it will absolutely happen beyond any shadow of doubt, but we have no indication thus far that it won’t, quite the contrary in fact, plus with the considerable success of ‘Taken 2’ and the no-doubt-considerable success of ‘A Good Day To Die Hard’ (great teaser trailer) next February, the powers-that-be at FOX might be persuaded to give the ’24’ movie at least the minimum $45m (which is what ‘Taken 2’ cost) budget that Imagine are looking for if they feel they have a profitable new action movie franchise (or trilogy) on their hands, let’s hope so anyway…

If you read my previous post about the movie there things that we do know that was vague a year ago. So to say that there’s been NO progress is inaccurate. There has been progress It sounds like scheduling is the main issue right now. It’s just a matter of working out the shooting schedule the director included. other then that they have a story.

Well look at it this way no news is good news right. Even tho it has been awhile again since we heard anything on the movie there is a light at the end of this movie tunnle. There info doesn’t seem so vague this time. We know jack is in Europe we know it takes place six months from where we last saw him. & we know the people he’s made enamy’s with are out to kill him & that his cover or hidden location has been blown. There two three things as I see it that we don’t know we don’t know who or if they have a director we don’t know kiefer’s opening window to start shooting, yes it’s after touch but this director & kiefer both have to have clear scheduling. That question

Hopefully there will be some official movie news late this year or early next year because the the last couple of years was a big waste with all the back and fourth between FOX and Imagine about the script problems, budget concerns, Kiefer Sutherland decision to do “Touch”, and FOX pulling the plug last minute to make the movie was so very frustrating. I hope that whoever is involved in making the movie got their ducks in a row by now because I don’t want to read about another delay in making the film.

“There has been progress It sounds like scheduling is the main issue right now. It’s just a matter of working out the shooting schedule the director included. other then that they have a story.”

This. It sounds to me – an outside observer, granted – like the reason we haven’t heard much about the ’24’ movie in the last few months may be because they’re waiting to see Kiefer Sutherland’s availability time between when he wraps filming on ‘Touch’ and when he might have to return to it again if granted a third season. That schedule will probably be finalized early in 2013, so by then everyone will know for sure how much filming time they have with Le Kief, but that being said, I would hope they are pretty imminent in announcing a director soon, pre-production should ideally begin on the ’24’ movie before this year is out, but we’ll see…

Oops, nearly forgot to mention, it looks like the upcoming ‘RoboCop’ remake has been rescheduled for a February 7th, 2014 release date, so whether FOX will feel confident enough in the ’24’ movie to go up against it will be interesting to see…

Personally, I’m still of the opinion that a release on Thursday, October 24th, 2013 would be the ideal date for the ’24’ movie to hit multiplexes; if they wrap filming by week-ending July 13th then they would have three solid months of post-production (about the same time that a typical Bond movie has in post) to get it ready for that aforementioned release date, besides it’s not a movie that’s likely to need five or six months of post-production work on it, so there’s no logistical reason that Jack Bauer’s big-screen debut couldn’t be released a mere three-and-a-half months after filming wraps, it’s tight but still absolutely doable…

Well Howard Gordon did imply That the movie depends on Kiefer’s schedule. That & a director as well So that’s not entirely impossible.

the reason we haven’t heard much about the ’24′ movie in the last few months may be because they’re waiting to see Kiefer Sutherland’s availability time

I’ve read this Elisha Cuthberg’s interview: She says

“I know it’s there, and it exists, but I have no idea when it’s happening, to be honest with you.”

“I ran into Howard, who is obviously busy with Homeland but is also involved with the 24 film, at the Emmys and he said it’s there but it’s all about timing,” she explained. “We’ll see – I’m available”

Hasn’t Elisha as good as confirmed that she WILL be in the movie, by virtue of the fact her people were told to keep her schedule free when it was thought production was going to happen this past summer…?
