Jack Is Back! “24: Live Another Day” Arrives on Blu-ray & DVD September 30!
EVERY SECOND COUNTS AS KIEFER SUTHERLAND RETURNS AS JACK BAUER IN “24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY” ARRIVING ON BLU-RAY AND DVD SEPTEMBER 30
Blu-ray Includes “24: Solitary,” The Shocking Story Extension to “Live Another Day”
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 24, 2014) – One of television’s most critically-acclaimed dramas returns for one more mission as “24: Live Another Day” arrives on Blu-ray and DVD September 30 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Starring Emmy® winner Kiefer Sutherland* as legendary hero Jack Bauer, the action-packed series follows our hero in real time over 12 episodes as a new terrorist threat unfolds overseas.
The year’s most anticipated television event, “24: Live Another Day,” delivers more explosive action than viewers could have hoped for! Exiled in London for four years, former Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer (Sutherland) must spring into action to try to save U.S. President James Heller (William Devane). In retribution for a drone strike he ordered, Heller sits in the crosshairs of the widow of an al-Qaeda leader. Along the way, Jack faces his ex-love, Heller’s daughter Audrey (Kim Raver), who’s married to chief of staff Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan). Teaming with CTU operative-turned-hacktivist Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), Jack risks everything to try to protect the U.S., prevent a global terrorist attack and outrun the CIA head (Benjamin Bratt) – as the pulse-quickening tension unfolds in real time!
Deemed one of AFI’s “Top Television Series of All Time” and winner 20 Emmy Awards, “24: Live Another Day” takes Jack to a foreign land for his most dangerous mission yet. The Blu-ray comes loaded with bonus material including “24: Solitary,” an intense story extension of Season Nine. Additionally, both the Blu-ray and DVD include the featurette “When Worlds Collide” illustrating how this thrilling season and the pulse-pounding storytelling stems from today’s terrorism and government headlines, “Destination London” focusing on shooting overseas, “Green Production” about the environmentally responsible making of the show and deleted and extended scenes.
Fans who want to experience every second of Jack Bauer’s heroism can also pickup, 24: The Complete Series on September 30, which features all nine seasons, including “24: Live Another Day” and the TV movie 24: Redemption.

July 24, 2014 at 4:50 pmXAM – the ever-so wise and critically acclaimed TV show guru, has a (negative) opinion/perspective/interpretation/view of the show. No one else be sure to comment as we all must bask in the glory that is XAM’s unparalleled expertise on special effects, graphics, writing, time progression, character development, story arc, casting, et cetera. And now he is even branching out into the realm of critiquing DVD special features. What a legend!
I for one am particularly a fan of his backhanded criticism of the show, comments masquerading as some sort of positive remark but are really nothing more than cleverly disguised sarcastic jokes. Read any (and yes, I mean literally, ANY other article on here) to find some pristine examples.
So with that introduction, again, let us all eagerly await XAM’s fascinating comments. The floor, XAM, is all yours!

July 24, 2014 at 5:29 pmI have to agree with XAM on this one though, why bother shooting in London when it could be done elsewhere no problem?

July 24, 2014 at 6:28 pmWe just talked about 24 for a while. He’s clearly a big fan. He asked me who my favorite director on the show was and I said Stephen Hopkins, he just left after that. Didn’t really respond.

July 24, 2014 at 7:55 pmAnd then I’d have to go one step further and make the picture a broken link like the non-working QR code on the “new” 24 DVD’s that still leads to a 404 page after months.
Sigh. Such an awesome series that deserves better DVD releases.

July 24, 2014 at 7:59 pmSeason 8 – No audio commentaries
LAD – No audio commentaries, no scene makers for every episode
And as always no bloopers.
Why did they get rid of commentaries? Or was this not the whole list of features?
Listening to the cast & crew while actually watching the episodes was a lot of fun to me. I genuinely miss those.
And why did they not use this opportunity to announce a Complete Series Blu-ray? Do they not want my money a 2nd time? I already own all the DVDs but would gladly throw my money at the blu-ray set.
Except for the “24 Solitary” thing, this is very disappointing.
And even the Solitary thing is most likely just 3-5 minutes long.
Just somehow expected more.

July 25, 2014 at 1:52 amThe whole operation this year – from the season itself, to the DVD announcement, to this poor excuse of a ‘panel; ‘ – has been botched.

August 13, 2014 at 6:51 pmBecause nothing screamed final season for reals! like a brand revival, money made, good ratings, positive reviews, tons of social media interest, a cliffhanger end to the finale, and a DVD bonus feature focused on the show’s most popular secret weapon whose reappearance is only going to help continue interest in another season.

August 4, 2014 at 4:50 amIt lists the length as 7 minutes, as opposed to only 3 minutes and says Michelle Bonilla is playing “Vanessa Diaz” and Barry Livingston is playing “Prison Admin.” Director is Jordan Goldman and writer Adam DaSilva (who wrote an episode of Live Another Day).
Again: This my not be true at all, just wanted to mention it.

August 30, 2014 at 2:32 amBy the way mh thanks and appreciation to web master “24 Spoilers” for keeping this up and running. It nice to peruse through in between notifications on something new just to see any new added comments and replies to the postings.
I’ve just gotten the new book out on my Kindle and hope to start reading it this weekend. I did see a couple of postings about it on Amazon. Have any of the regular posters here read it yet? If so what did you think of it?

August 30, 2014 at 3:20 amI still haven’t gotten over my frustration and anger over not just the death of Audry but how it was written. Secret Servicd really let her go in there without a bullit proof vest on, huh?? Right! Just how damn dumb do the writers think we are??? And Kate who was so quick to spot Jack’s motives for allowing himself to be caught in the opening doesn’t keep Audrey down and if not hidden from a sniper at least shadowed to not let her be such an open target until she got help on the scene????
And these damn dumb bunny writers couldn’t at least have Heller clear the lousey words between he and Jack back in season 6; so now there is one more death Jack gets to deal with with and she/Audrey is also stomach shot!!!! Come on guys this wasn’t some lousey “B” movie you were working on, we–the loyal fans of the show– deserved a lot better that we got on your final season. Keep that in mind when you get around to writing Season 10!!
