E! Online has debuted a deleted scene from the upcoming 24: Live Another Day DVD release. It takes place during the first couple minutes of the season finale right after Jack and Kate learn about Audrey’s dangerous situation.
In the scene Mark Boudreau pulls a gun on Jack and Kate saying “There’s no guarantee you’ll do anything for Audrey except get her killed,” but is quickly restrained and arrested by Bauer.
It’s easy to guess why this scene was cut – it foreshadowed things a bit too much. Audrey’s death came as a surprise to many viewers.
Last month we reported the news of fifteen total deleted scenes on the DVD release, nine of them from the finale.

September 27, 2014 at 9:51 amIt was just stupid and so unnecessary they could have gotten an even better end note to the season by having Jack release her from Chang knowing he may get a shot at being with her then having the Russians call about Chloe and having him say “I am sorry, I need to go.”
The ending could have stayed spot on for the helicopter exchange and the sad losses Heller feels could have been all about how a year from now he won’t remember his son in law betrayed him and almost got his daughter killed….good enough with some hope for the future….

September 28, 2014 at 7:49 amThe whole purpose of Audrey dying was for Jack to relive and face the past he’s been running from. That’s why he stops running. It was the whole theme of the day. It’s like a purgatory for Jack to get through. Chloe was a mirror of him (she lost her family as well and was running from her past) and when he saves her, he’s essentially saving himself.
Everyone loses everything by the end of the day.
Kate is a direct reflection of Day One Jack. (Her losing Audrey was exactly the same as Jack losing Teri, gunshot in the stomach, as Kate repeats for Jack on the phone the words he said when holding Teri’s body, “I’m so sorry. So sorry.”
Mark is a Day 4 reflection (when he was working for Heller and had a serious relationship with Audrey).
Chloe is Jack’s current reflection. (On the run from the government, the past, and the family they lost).
(Heller can reflect a future Jack that loses his daughter.)
It’s about finding the will, in the face of tremendous loss, to live another day.

September 28, 2014 at 10:59 amAudrey’s return was a sentimental hook without any purpose other than to confirm that Jack is the saddest most put upon tragic figure in the universe and to underscore and shove it again in the faces of the audience we will make the Heller Family story ever bit as awful as we can– Pile it on! More is More!
Let’s give Jack’s pseudo dad Alzheimer’s, lets underscore Audrey’s piss poor luck with men by making her latest squeeze/hubby a smarmy weasle, let’s reenforce the idea that all presidental insiders are moles and have Mark betray Heller, Lets make sure Heller and Jack don’t ever reconcile their past, Let’s make sure Audrey and Jack never reconcile their past either. Let’s give Jack and Audrey a final chance to saysomething meaningful and important to one another but (tee hee hee) let’s make sure they are taking about two completely different things so the connection hits only false notes.
Then in the end, let’s ensure a massive amount of social, political and world wide disconnect by isolating every member of Heller’s grim little group by ensuring Audrey dies alone on a park bench with Jack’s future Bauer-Boo holding her had and saying sorry; Mark in solitary with no access to current information but all alone fearing the worst header to Guantanamo or equally remote, and Heller– who cares he will forget the whole thing soon enough…. making the entire Heller existance on the show and on this earth pointless.
Jack already made the decision to stop running when he came out of the cold to save Heller– as he says to Mark– I’m the last thing you should be worrying about by the end of the day I’ll be dead or in prision.” He also would have stopped running to save Chloe as he did with the exchage regardless of what happened in the end to Audrey.
Kate is not reflecting on Day 1 — unless she and Audrey were lovers with a fractured relationship and a child– its not the same loss at all– Kate and Jack share other points of commonality but not that one.
Mark is not a reflection of Jack on Day 4– if anything he is Walt Cummings and more like Day 5.
How is it representative of finding the will to live signing up for a suicide mission? Jack is ALWAYS volunterring to go down nothing new here and by S10 we have him surviving….

September 30, 2014 at 7:05 ambc i have saved it bc i did not want Audrey to die,
and now im really sad.
I loved the end of season 6 and i was crying when Audrey was droged, and i love the episode soooo
Much. And now when she finally comes back (have been waitingfor it for forever) they killed her???
How do they think? You have so right about that the season would be better if she were alive.
I didnt like tis at all.
Im a Big fan of 24 and have been watched över and över again. But this season was shit.
Morris died, Prescot died, Audrey died, Chloe is… almost gone? Hatet this black side of her. And ten season was only 12 hours.
They need to fix this. Bring Morris and Audrey back, especially Audrey. I dont Care how, but they ned to take her back.
And yey, kate dont get together with jack, it Would destroy it even more.
It also need a real and good, ctu back.
And i think its good that Tony comes back. BC THEY HAVE CILLED ALL THE GOOD CHARECTERS AND I REALLY WANT MORRIS AND ESPECIALLY AUUUDREY BACK, AND BRING BACK CHLOE AS SHE WAS BEFORE AND A GOOD CTU ENVIROMENT.
UFF.. LOVE THE OTHER SEASONS BUT THIS WAS DISGUSTING… I DONT SEE ANY POINT WITH THIS SEASON, IT JUST CILLED THE REALLY GOOD CHARECTERS…
THEY NEED DO FIX THIS, AND BRING TONY BACK WONT FIX IT, BUT IT IS A START. LOVED WHEN HE BACAMED EVIL AND THEN GOOD AGAIN

October 20, 2014 at 1:22 amWell almost as I do make exceptions one being to the few trolls I guess every blog has to have their couple of acting out teenagers. The n there are the Audrey bashers who make it hard to read their opinions on her because they are such hateful, and shallow remarks that show a lack of thoughtful observation on her character deficits. They are instead a slash, burn, destroy mode of her with an attitude of the end justifies they means mentality, so for the most part I blow their comments off as too much of a mean spiritedness as well as a waste of my time and I have better things to do.
Among those better things is to go back and re-read somw of the postings by Mary, Kiki and others as what they’re sharing shows is their depth of thought and feelings, sometimes some hurmor and often shared possibilities of how a season 10 might look, even if it does have aliens from another space and time! Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and ideas on a truly great and ground breaking show! Lady J
