When we meet Ben Grimes, it’s about six months after he’s been on a mission, in which been Bin-Khalid has been killed. They’re back in the States, and our comrades are being killed one after the next. What comes of that sort of thrusts the show off in its initial direction.

Ben Grimes, having sort of slipped into drug addiction and his history of PTSD, grabbed that strongbox, realizing that there was money inside the container. And it turns out, there was a lot more than just money in the strongbox.
And so although he is responsible for setting this chain of events into action, he does so unknowingly. People like to say, is he a good guy, or is he a bad guy? And there isn’t an easy answer for that.
