’24’ star Annie Wersching dies at 45 from cancer

Annie Wersching who played fan favorite Renee Walker on 24 Season 7 and 8 has passed away this morning at the age of 45 from a private battle with cancer.

Jon Cassar, director and executive producer of 24, paid tribute with the following message:

My heart is broken in more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile. Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away. Annie became more than a workmate, she became a real friend to me, my family and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She’ll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie you’ll be missed, you left your mark, and we’re all the better for it.

Other 24 stars have paid their respects on social media:

Annie will be greatly missed. A Go Fund Me fundraiser has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses and support Wersching’s family – husband Stephen Full, and her three sons – Freddie (age 12), Ozzie (age 9) and Archie (age 4).
